ABC EQUITY AND DIVERSITY PLAN 2012–15
In 2012–15, the ABCs equity and diversity program is focused on three key goals, being: 1. Inclusive—how we embrace diversity in the workplace; 2. Audience focused—how we deliver content which reflects diversity; and 3. Audience accessible—how we support access to our products and services. Equity and diversity is one of the cornerstones of Corporate Responsibility which underpin the ABCs operations. Diversity, respect and collegiality are an integral part of how the ABC pursues its strategic goals. The ABC understands the importance of how results are achieved not just the results themselves. Delivering content, products and services that satisfy the needs and expectations of audiences is the essence of the ABCs existence. The Equity and Diversity Plan goals and strategies support the leadership, values and directions of the ABCs Charter, Strategic Plan, Editorial Policies and Corporate Social Responsibility program. The Plan is linked to the ABCs Reconciliation Action Plan and assists the Corporation to contribute to a shared national identity by reflecting the diversity of the Australian community and providing an inclusive workplace. The Equity and Diversity Plan aims to meet the requirements of the Equal Employment Opportunity (Commonwealth Authorities) Act 1987 and Government initiatives and reports related to diversity and provides a summary of progress of the Plan in the ABCs Equity and Diversity Annual Report which is tabled in Federal Parliament.
